Los Abrigos is a lovely fishermen town, best known for its seafood. Every night locals and tourists head to panoramic dinner restaurants of Los Abrigos from all over Tenerife. Ask us where!
When you see the tiny fishing boats returning to the port of Los Abrigos (usually early in the morning), you can go to a local fish-shop "Lonja Pesquera" to buy your fresh catch. You might be surprised by your own culinary skills!
Los Abrigos black sand beach Playa Grande on the west side of the town is a 10-minute walk away. Around the beach you will find beautiful wooden promenades with flowers, pergolas and rest areas ideal for coastal strolling, jogging or cycling to start or end your day.
The locals of small, yet still authentic, Los Abrigos sunbathe and swim in the town's marina, which is protected from the waves.
Don't miss out the graffiti mural on the marina, portraying the real residents of the town. A movie was made just recently about this artwork and local heroes in it.
Have a look at a recently inaugurated fine sculpture, a tribute to fishermen and their traditions. The man depicted in the sculpture is an old-school boat maker, one of a kind, who still lives in Los Abrigos. You might even meet him on your way!
Los Abrigos has several diving and yoga schools. Short distance away there are caves to visit, also mountain bike / cross-country motorbike trails (rental in El Médano).
Up in Los Abrigos north, in Las Chaffiras you will find a padel club. Other nearby sports activities include golfing in Golf del Sur, horse riding club, bike and sup's hire in El Médano, boat and dolphin / whale watching trips from Los Cristianos.
Ask us for hiking and sightseeing recommendations, as this island has thousands of options for everyone's taste!
On east of Los Abrigos locals relax in well-known natural lava pools. Further east at the foot of Montaña Roja, there is a one-kilometre-long wild beach La Tejita full of natural fine sand. Montaña Roja is also well worth a climb.
Beyond Montaña Roja lies El Médano, the wind/kite surfer paradise, where you can also surf. Spend some time in this vibrant town to feel the atmosphere and people you will not find anywhere else in Tenerife.
